Editorial & Verification Policy

Every offer is tested before publication, dated, re-tested on a schedule, and removed when it stops working. This page explains how.

Last updated 25 September 2026

Our standard

A coupon listing is only worth publishing if a reader can act on it. That means it has to be tested, the conditions have to be written down, and the date of the last check has to be visible. We hold ourselves to those three things on every page.

Sourcing

  • Retailer newsletters, press releases and publicly published promotional pages.
  • Merchant and affiliate programme feeds, where we participate in a programme.
  • Reader submissions and reports.
  • Our own monitoring of retailer sale sections.

No offer is published on the strength of its source alone, including offers supplied by a retailer directly.

Verification before publication

  1. A member of the deals desk builds a genuine qualifying basket at the retailer.
  2. The code is entered and the result recorded: accepted, rejected, or accepted with conditions.
  3. We note the minimum spend, the discount cap, the categories and brands excluded, and any account or new-customer requirement.
  4. We write the terms in plain language rather than copying marketing text.
  5. A second reviewer checks the discount claim, the expiry date and the exclusions before the page goes live.

If we cannot make an offer validate, we do not publish it.

Dating and re-testing

  • Every offer page shows the date it was last re-tested.
  • The most-read offers are re-checked weekly.
  • All other offers are re-checked at least monthly.
  • Any offer a reader reports is re-checked within one business day.

We do not refresh a date without actually re-testing, and we do not invent an expiry date to manufacture urgency. Where a retailer has not published an end date, we say the offer is ongoing.

Retiring offers

An offer is removed when it fails re-testing, when the retailer confirms it has ended, or when it has passed its published expiry date. We would rather have a shorter list that works than a long one that does not.

Corrections

If we get something wrong we fix it and, where the error was material, note the correction on the page. To report an error, use Report an Offer or email support@couponmuz.com.

Independence

Commercial relationships do not influence what we publish or how we describe it. See the Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure for how the site is funded.

What we will not publish

  • Codes we have not been able to validate.
  • Offers that require readers to breach a retailer’s terms.
  • Fabricated expiry dates, success rates or usage figures.
  • Offers described as exclusive unless a retailer issued them to us specifically.
  • Anything that requires an extension install or a payment to reveal a code.
